Wolf Parade @ First Ave...

Third times a charm. These guys proved in front of 1000 people they are emerging to the top. From Montreal Canada Wolf Parade puts on one of the best live shows possible every time. Led by Spencer Krug on keys and vocals this band has so many pieces it's amazing to watch all of the talent. I would say this band reaches a lot of it's full potential and all the band members sort of scrape together all their raw talent and blend it together. The sound was very loud but the view was perfect. I found myself dancing/jamming at this one, a very unique blend of enjoyment. The first two times I saw these guys I was just pure rockin with my air guitar. I believe in anything is one of the best encore songs of all time and that song turned out to be the fifth to last song in the solid set. Their last cd never stops getting played in my car and was one of the best albums of last year (Apologies to the Queen Mary). This band portrays I very heavy indie blend of sound. The vocals take a little time to get used but the instrumentals carry through this outstanding act all the way through. Wolf Parade to the top. For pictures check out the rock n roll star blog. Sandi Thom to come soon. -Brody

Brody,

Yeah, absolutely loved Wolf Parade. The gig in the 7th Street Entry is still my personal fav, though.

Looking forward to your write-up on Sandi Thom. I guess it was pretty poorly attended so I'm sure you got a picture with her, right?!
