The Rock n Roll Queen

I still haven't seen PJ Harvey's new dvd nor did I see ethridge in her prime, but I know one thing Brandi Carlile is in my era and I don't know any gal that can rock like she can right now. I thought KT Tunstall blew me away but when Brandi galloped on stage it was KT and Ethridge times 10. She got the crowd clapping, the twins dancing, and of course the guys and girls screaming. Before her star-shinning act she inroduced the opening band Gran Bel Fisher who was very good to say the least. Keep an eye on this guy ladies and gentlemen. He's from clevland ohio and should be back at the varsity this fall. I'm not sure if it was sold out but it was close, this country rock n roll girl blew my pants off with her perfomance. I watched a couple videos and thought she was preety good, especially the instore in seattle, when she sang a long with a 5 year old girl. She remembered that when I brought it up. The highlight of the night has to be the radiohead cover of the song "creep". A duet by Gran and Brandi was by far the best cover I have heard, and one of my favorite songs of all time. The varsity gave us a hint of the cover playing green plastic trees before and inbetween sets. This was her sixth time in minneapolis, more than she's played in her hometown. I think she likes us! We love you too Brandi, see you in the fall and get a live DVD out!!!! Next time I'll tape you when your tour manager lets me.. Cheers and try to find a ticket to see KT Tunstall at the fineline this tuesday!!!!!! She and Brandi are very similar and equally great!!! -Brody
