Babelgum and Music Nation Launch Babelgum Music Video Awards‏

Pictured above is Minneapolis buzz band The Melismatics, they recently won a contest to get into Lollapalooza. Here is another contest for a Minneapolis band or any band/artist!

Music Nation and Babelgum.com are launching the 2008 Babelgum Music Video Awards to seek out the top Indie Music acts. We will ask the public to judge artists based on their musical ability and video quality. Prizes include mobile awards, a live performance in the UK and a record development deal with Universal Music! So get your best video ready for upload and follow these easy steps...

Entry
To enter the competition, you must be an Indie Music act and submit at least one qualified video for public voting. You first need to create an account on babelgum.com and follow the steps to upload your video. All video submissions should be in English or have English subtitles.

Video
There are certain minimum requirements for the resolution (or "quality") of the videos submitted to the site and for this competition. Please click here to see the technical requirements and to find out if your video qualifies.

*Competition is open for entry from October 6th till November 16th.
*Entry will close on 16th November and the direct voting rounds will begin
*Four rounds of direct voting will run from Nov 17th – Jan 7th
*Votes are cast via the Babelgum Video Player
*You (and all your friends) can vote for your band by coming back to this page from November 17th
*You can only vote once per video per day
*At the end of each round, the top 9 vote-getters will move on to the Semi-Finals.
*Industry experts will select 1 band as an “Insider Pick” during each round, making for a total of 10 bands advancing in each voting round
*Vote totals are reset after every round, so don’t give up!

Submissions are open now through the 16th November. Screening and voting will start on 17th November on the Babelgum TV platform, and will continue for around 2 months.
