Nice pics and video. One of the best straight ahead rock shows that I have seen in the past five years.
This was The Duke Spirit's first visit to Minneapolis (after missing us on two previous tours this year) and the London based rockers did not disappoint. Lead singer Liela Moss appeared at times to be channeling Grace Slick onstage, she is that good. Fantastic songwriting, they appear ready to meet Oasis's challenge to become a great UK band. The Duke Spirit will be back in Minneapolis to open for Mercury Rev in December so highly recommend to any music fans to check them out.
Came with a very big chip on my shoulder and expected to dislike Eagles of Death Metal, I had planned on leaving after two or three songs. Instead ended witnessing a fantastic show that will be remembered for a very long time. Classic blue-jean, blue-collar, Ted Nugent blistering rock.
Dispite using every known Stones rif at least twice and yelling out "Are you ready to Rock n' Roll" at least ten times during the show, lead singer Jesse put on an incredible show - text book example on how a band should involve their fans in the show from beginning to end. Humorous to watch Jesse getting mileage from his simple onstage props - sunglasses, mustache, combs, and of course changing his t-shirts three or four times. All I can say is ..........wow, what a great American band.
