Cat Power @ The Varsity....

On a very tired evening for everone, Cat Power put us in silent thoughts. She talked about her life changing experiences and was very social with the audience. She has a lot of talent and great voice, but she seems very stressed and tired while performing. She complained a lot about the sound and was almost falling asleep on the piano. She did have a lot of highlights on the night with her big single and their were a lot of great parts to her set. She just has to break out of her thoughts and just enjoy herself on stage a little bit more. I would recommend seeing Cat Power just don't get your hopes up to start dancing. Have a good weekend. I'll be at Band of Horses @ the finline on monday.

Given a chance of recommending where dollars would be best spent by the music fan in Chan Marshall's case - CD's or live performance - spend it on the CD's.

the late show sounded about the same, if not worse than the earlier one...

like you said, some absolutely heart wrenching moments, but also a lot of trainwreck moments too...

i really thought she might have gotten her shit together lately, with her being sober and from everything i'd read in interviews/reviews...

at least w/ the Memphis Rhythm Band, if she pulls stuff like this it's not as noticeable cuz the band keeps playing, but solo it's just too much to make the show enjoyable all the way through...

oh well, last it didn't cost me anything this time

Yea I would see her again probably only if she was with her band, I still like her but it was to depressing and she talked and complained way to much
