Fiero and The 88 w/ special guests Matt Costa....
Unfortunatley I didn't see the swedish band the Envelopes. The show was on late and I wanted to see the 88's whole set. I was forced to pick a show and I definetly made the right choice. Fiero, the west bank legends, brought a classic pop sound to the table and got the crowd moving to start things off. The L.A. based band, the 88, has gotten a lot of hype and deserves all the attention their getting. With very solid high pitch vocals(beatles esq.), and high energy indie band backing up the vocals, this band knows how to rock. Matt Costa's entire band had the night off and had a blast playing great music with their pals. Mitch(the f*ckin god as mentioned by the other band members and also lead guitarist for Matt Costa), talked after the show about how much he loves touring with ALO and The 88. He also said it makes the tour 10 times better when you enjoy watching the sets from the other bands and getting the chance to play along side. The 88 is working hard to make it to the top. They have the live show and great new album to continue their climb up. See yall at Built to Spill

Another very good pop/rock act to visit the Twin Cities this month from LA - am going to have to slightly change my geographic focus on new bands from Texas towards LA.
It was fun watching Matt Costa join in the encore "Suffragette
City".
it's definitely unfortunate that you missed out on the envelopes- I was pleasantly surprised with them. Ratatat on the other hand, was AMAZING. You definitely should have stuck around to see them!
