The Concretes at the varsity on mothers day...

This eight-piece from sweden was a perfect fit for a nice quiet mothers day evening. When I was heading to the show, their was absolutley no one outside or in the lounge area. I almost thought it was a private party. Fortunatley the concretes didn't mind the small crowd. Instead they praised the theater and said, "this is the nicest venue we've ever played in our lives." The concretes harmonies were very uplifting along with the percusion in the backround. With eight band members their were a lot of intruments. This insturments included, saxaphone, flute, trumpet, keys, 3 guitars, bass, piano, and of course the drummer. With 3 ladies and 5 lads, The Concretes are one big happy family. New buffalo, from beverly hills, opened. She sounds very similar to Regina Spektor. I've now seen about 6 swedish bands and they're all amazing!!!!! Especially these guys check out they're new album and videos on their website. I'm gearing up for Film School at the 400 tonight, followed by the islands, frogs, and sunset rubdown at first ave the following night. Have a super duper week everybody. -Your best friend Brody
