Scott Matthews @ Bunkers 10/4/07

scott matthews

Imagine American Gregg Allman and Englishman Nick Drake strolling into Minneapolis Bunkers Bar and sitting on the stage to play a few songs together and you get an idea of what talented Wolverhampton native Scott Matthews sounds like. Singing solo and acoustic for over seventy minutes, Scott performed mostly songs from his release “Passing Stranger” to an attentive, quiet audience. He was winner of this year’s prestigious UK Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for “Elusive”. This is Scott’s very first American tour, he said he was next heading towards Denver and the West Coast, then opening for Rufus Wainwright across Scotland and England. Riveting live performer with a haunting voice, he deserves to play a venue like the Varsity Theater the next time he returns to Minneapolis , let’s hope that is soon.

White Light Riot's New Atomism Video!

One of the best and only video's of this caliber I've seen, was done by Nate Maydole(50 Entertainment). Nate and 50 will be working on many more videos to come and will continue pushing to see White Light Riot hit big. Every label pushes for bands to get out and tour, and 50 is a perfect example, constantly driving to get WLR to tour. And White Light Riot has been touring around the Midwest, putting together video blogs and slowly but surely building a bigger fan base. Their working on getting a few gigs with Robbers on High Street over the next couple months. Lets keep are fingers crossed for the band.
