Filligar and The Coral Sea
A very cool indie chicago band, goes by the name of Filligar. Yea I know your thinking, "yea whatever another powerpop piano band from chicago, what else is knew?". Well of you got the piano part right but this band brings so many great bands to mind when you here these tunes. Call it whatever kind of pop you want, it brings a lot of spirit and life upon us all. Wilco, Beatles, and Badly Drawn Boy are some of the bands they compare themselves to. Trying to get into CMJ music fest in new york their still trying, but they do have a show in New York City Nov. 24th at the Lion's Den. "The City Tree" is their brand new release, buy it here.

"Another U.K. band they all sound the same, who cares"? Actually their from Santa Barbara and they sound a lot like Radiohead and Secret Machines, I think you should check these guys out. With even more comparisons to Cat Steves and Beethoven, this band blends a lot of strings from violins to all kinds of guitars. Check out their 2006 ablum Volcano and Heart!
