Pearl and the Beard, loud and proud in NYC
Another great NYC band I was able to check out this winter was Pearl and the Beard. Both Jocelyn "No Nicknames" Mackenzie and Jeremy "Handsome James" Styles have incredible range on vocals. For those of you who are into male and female vocals blended together for folky duet tunes I highly recommend checking these guys out. Even if your not blown away by their music, they still are worth checking out just to meet these two characters. I got a chance to sit down with them and both Jeremy and Jocelyn have great personalities. Another item this band has is an EP in a paper bag that they sell at shows, not sure if it's recycled paper(I don't think their Cloud Cult extreme)? At home with Pearl and the Beard is the name of the EP. The band just added a chello player and are currently finishing their first full length album. If your in NYC give them a whirl.
