Caroline Smith had an early celebration at the 7th st. entry last Saturday night, nearly selling out the small room. Having two national bands apart of the bill helped but you could tell the all ages crowd was their to see Caroline and the Sleeps. Thanking everyone in the crowd for coming out she quickly struck right into her set, playing all the hits from her debut album "Backyard Tent Set". She even played a cover by an artist named Cataldo, who is rumored to hop on the next full length tour with Caroline Smith and The Good Night Sleeps next spring?
Caroline Smith will be 21 tom. and I'm still blown away at her performance. I'm so glad that Minneapolis has an immensely talented female artist, soon to break onto the national scene. A crisp clear voice, radiant smile, and extremely comfortable stage presence are just some of the many qualities Caroline offers. A fresh young backing band which includes Cloud Cult drummer Arlen Peiffer, adds all the right pieces to this up and coming star. Amy Macdonald and Kate Nash are the my more recent comparisons I have for Caroline. Many also think she would be huge in Europe, where many of the big female artists have come out of. Check her out and give me your thoughts??
