A long awaited show that was well worth staying for. Last night I got the scoop on how all three bands played together at this gig. Originally Ane Brun and Matt Costa were suppposed to play together and ALO (American Liberation Orchestra) was supposed to play at the fineline. Turns out they're all friends so they decided to play together thanks to some help from a minneapolis bookie. Ane Brun who origanally grew up in Norway is now living in Stockholm. She has a brilliant new album and has played a lot with Ron Sexmith and other great male performers. ALO started a little corky but really picked up the pace with excelent guitars sounds by their lead. And of course the man of the house, Matt Costa, delivered with a solid stage act. With a little Voxtrot sound mixed in with a little country, his vocals were awesome. Nothing out of the ordinary with the instrumental sound, but everything blended well. For the encore they had both of the other bands come out, for a total of 11 people people on set. Check out the current for songs by ane brun, and cities 97 for songs by ALO. Goodnight -Brody
