Andy Ulseth making some noise in Minneapolis!

That Caroline Smith gal introduced me to this Andy Ulseth kid, I checked out his music and dug the sound. Andy is the opposite of a local bum that plays covers at bars. Working on a full length album, he's poised to continue writing original material. Yes I know Andy is known for a few Decemberists and Fleet Foxes covers, but believe me listen to some tracks. Ulseth just like where all those extremely talented locals start(at the 400 bar), is ready to make the next jump.
I shot both these videos this week with Andy at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. This might be the start of the first "real" Minneapolis video blog. Working on an intro, Andy along with many other local artists will make an appearance. Any ideas on names?? One of my favorites is the Black Cab Sessions.

Here's the brief write up that was in the Star Tribune today, by Chris Reimenschneider
"Last week at the 318 Cafe, Andy Ulseth bemusedly told the crowd, "Let me make it clear right up front: I used to sing with Casey Carlson of 'American Idol,' but she won't be here tonight." He wasn't kidding. He and Carlson were Eden Prairie schoolmates who used to perform together, but now she's out in Los Angeles pandering to Simon Cowell. Set to headline the 400 Bar Feb. 27, Ulseth is doing just fine on his own with a melodic, boyish but brainy brand of acoustic rock exemplified by his terrific Fleet Foxes cover. Bet they'd never allow that one on "A.I."
Be sure to catch him at the 400 Bar Feb. 27th!
